In the last weeks the unit of neuromuscular diseases in the Sant Pau Hospital, has published two scientific papers in the journal “Neurology”. The publications respond to three of the research lines developed by the unit:
- Research in myasthenia gravis: biomarkers and clinical characterization of new presentations of the disease
- Research in muscular dystrophies and myopathies using magnetic resonance imaging as a useful biomarker to measure the evolution of the disease.

The article “Clinical and therapeutic features of myasthenia gravis in adults based on age of onset” by Dr. Cortés, uses the national registry of Myasthenia Gravis to describe a subgroup of patients with myasthenia gravis according to age.
On the other hand, the article “Accuracy of a machine learning muscle MRI-based tool for the diagnosis of muscular dystrophies” has been done by Dr. Díaz Manera, who proposes a new approach to the analysis of magnetic resonance using the “machine learning” technique.
