Neuromuscular Diseases Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau

The Neuromuscular Diseases Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is a multidisciplinary unit with extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment and research in neuromuscular diseases. This is a team in which clinical activity and research, both clinical and basic, overlap and interrelate and in which the resolution of clinical problems involves laboratory reserachers and in which basic research always arises from clinical problems.

The unit is formed by Neurologists expert in neuromuscular diseases, with extensive experience in electromyography and training and interest in basic research; by basic researchers with interest and experience in translational research projects; by expert nurses in coordinating projects, clinical studies and databases; and skilled laboratory technicians in basic and translational research and the organization and management of sample banks.
