Neurologist - Predoctoral researcher
Rodrigo Álvarez Velasco holds a degree in Medicine from the Autonoma University of Madrid (2010). He completed his Neurology residency at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid (2011-2015). He worked afterwards as a Neurology specialist at Ramón y Cajal Hospital (2016-2017) and then in the Neuromuscular Unit of Bellvitge Hospital as a fellow in a research project on mitochondrial myopathies funded by the Carlos III Health Institute (2018).
Since 2018, he works as a fellow in Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital. He performs his doctoral thesis on the identification of biomarkers in myasthenia gravis. He has recently been awarded with a Río Hortega contract from the Carlos III Research Institute.
