Patricia achieved her degree in Biotechnology and Biochemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB, 2008 and 2009 respectively) and gained experience in research through the Master in Biomedicine, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology featuring the work of Master in the Biological Reagents Unit (Almirall, S.A., 2009-2010).

Afer working in the Basic, Translational and Neurogenetics Research Unit in Health Sciences Research Institute Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP), Badalona (Spain) as a laboratory technician for 3 years she joined the group of Neuromuscular Diseases in Hospital de Sant Pau i la Santa Creu (2014, Barcelona) as PhD student to date.

Her Doctoral Thesis in Medicine led by Dr. Jordi Díaz and Dr. Eduard Gallardo focuses on the fisiopathogenesis and therapy of muscular dystrophies, especially on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) funded by “Duchenne Parent Project” and “Boehringer Ingelheim S.A”. Nowadays the group is testing a new drug with proposed anti-fibrotic activity in mdx mice of 10 months of age, the mouse model of DMD with encouraging preliminary results.
