Esther Fernández received her Bachelor degree in Biochemistry in July 2015 from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. After graduation, she started the master in Biomedicine imparted at the Universitat de Barcelona, which was finished in 2016.She did the final project of the master at the PRBB (Parc de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona), in the muscle wasting and lung cancer group. There she worked on a project related to two drugs that could have an effect on preventing muscle wasting in cancer cachexia.

Esther first came to Neuromuscular group in January 2017, as a predoctoral student. Now she is working on therapeutic approaches against muscle dystrophies in a cellular and animal model.
