Team
Pre-doctoral researcher
Cinta Lleixà studied a degree in Biomedical Sciences at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from September 2010 to June 2014.She is currently workings in the Neuromuscular Disorders Laboratory as Laboratory Technician.
Her stay in the group started on September 2013, doing the academic practices of the biomedical degree. During this time, Cinta collaborated with some investigation projects focused on the research of dermatomyositis biomarkers, doing multiple techniques as cell cultures, western blot, immunocitochemistry and Polimerase-Chain-Reaction (PCR).
Currently, her role in the laboratory is carry out clinical analysis for the diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases, performing techniques such as :histochemistry and immunohistochemistry staining in muscle biopsies, DNA extraction from peripheral blood, thin layer chromatography…
Also, she is the responsible for storing, anonymizing and labeling various types of biologic samples obtained from patients visited at the neuromuscular unit. She is also in charge of the update and management of biological information databases. Apart from her task as a Laboratory technician, she has also participated in the implementation of the ISO9001 normative in the Neuromuscular Laboratory, which was approved in 2015. This task included the elaboration of numerous protocols in order to guarantee the quality of all the procedures and the correct traceability of all the diagnostic techniques performed in our laboratory.
