Concepción Escola works in Hospital de Sant Pau since 1979 in different specialities such as emergency, pneumology, thoracic surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery and neurology.

In 2001 she starts working in the neurology ward and in 2011 she moved to the neurology outpatients’ service, where she is in charge of the coordination and management of neuromuscular patients. As a case management nurse she identifies complexes cases being the link among the different levels of healthcare: primary care, regional hospital and high specialized hospital. She also coordinates patients’ admissions and their visits in the multidisciplinary committees, as a part of the committee she follows up patients with neuromuscular diseases doing health education especially in nutrition strategies and care of the feeding tube and stoma in patients with PEG and patient mobilization techniques to prevent pressure ulcers..
